Doing the Math: VMs vs Dedicated Servers When considering hosting options for your business, it's vital to do the math and weigh up the pros and cons of both VMs in the Cloud and dedicated servers. While each has its advantages, understanding their differences will help you make an informed decision that best suits your unique needs. The Case for Dedicated Servers A significant advantage of dedicated servers is the guarantee of consistent performance. Unlike VMs, you're not sharing server resources with other customers. This exclusivity ensures your applications run smoothly, offering an optimal user experience. Moreover, dedicated servers don't usually have the risk of overage charges for CPU cycles, disk space, and memory usage, as you might encounter with Cloud services. These servers give you a predictable, flat-rate pricing model that makes budgeting easier. In addition, dedicated servers can offer you more robust protection against malicious traffic, bots, and other non-human generated traffic, which often consume a significant amount of resources. With dedicated servers, you're essentially paying for an extra layer of 'insurance' that shields you from these issues, maintaining the integrity of your applications and services. Techrich's BDaaS (Big Data as a Service) is built in-house based on our wealth of Big Data experience and knowledge.  Just like our typical offerings, we're unique and innovative with our BDaaS platform. We don't offer Hadoop as it simply doesn't make sense to do so based on our own analysis and client feedback.  Hadoop is the most known and recognized implementation of Big Data services but in our opinion is too difficult to configure and use and our clients have found the same issue.  The Techrich Corporation went to work and realized there are so many more viable alternatives which are better for our clients, while offering the same functionality as Hadoop, only with better performance, we've created a win-win platform. Techrich's BDaaS Custom Model IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) based on our superior, in-house proprietary Clustered Cloud VPS technology.
